The Cult of Done Manifesto

There are three states of being.
Not knowing, action and completion.
Accept that everything is a draft.
It helps to get it done.
There is no editing stage.
Pretending you know what you’re doing is almost the same as knowing what you are doing,
so just accept that you know what you’re doing even if you don’t and do it.
Banish procrastination.
If you want more than a week to get an idea done, abandon it.
The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done.
Once you’re done you can throw it away.
Laugh at perfection.
It’s boring and keeps you from being done.
People without dirty hands are wrong.
Doing something makes you right.
Failure counts as done.
So do mistakes.
Destruction is a variant of done.
If you have an idea and publish it on the internet, that counts as the ghost of done.
Done is the engine of more.
I am done . . .

What are you watching me at work these days? I am in so deep I am not sure when I can call it done. Sometimes I just have to stop and be done for a bit. Overwhelmed- but this too shall pass. Procrastination is my worst, worst problem- if I don’t get it done right away, I will find endless reasons not to start…argh

3 states of being? Sure there are….caring a lot, caring a little, and who gives a rats arse..works for me!

On a more serious note, there is much to be thought about in this.
Each sentence is a post in, and of itself I think.
This post strikes me in quite the strange way ~m, but having said that, I do like it….

    P.S.
Procrastination is much like masturbation you know…it’s nice at first but then you realise all you did was fuck yourself….

This post reminds me of a revolving door.
You enter and can go around as many times as you please until you have had enough and then you’re done.
I am glad that I am done reading this post because now I can move on and do something else.

I think you may have something there. Including a few mistakes. I don’t believe doing something makes you right (but I could be wrong.) But…laugh at perfection? That’s perfect!
    Cheers!

when in doubt? get on with it… do something… i can get quagmired (verb?) and the more i’m stuck the harder it gets to be unstuck. the solution is often plugging my nose and plowing forward. or outward. sometimes backward. but just ‘plowing’…

I am done, too. And dusted.

Beautiful Monday morning and I am stuck.
Realised I’ve been stuck for many months.
    (The excuses are good though).
And all of a sudden: let’s see what M. has to say.
That’s the wonder about your place, no matter what time, after how much time I come here, it feels like home (once you recognise the once again updated but now absolutely super cool looking paint job).
I like your three stages, however seems too simple. (Which is often a confirmation that it is absolutely right).
I think in some ways, we always know. We just don’t like the look of it.
And if that is right, then the next stage is ‘action’.
Thanks for the jump start this morning M.
    I have missed you.

    Feels like home?
That is one of the nicest compliments I have yet to receive.
    Miss you as well, Suz
    M
