I Am

I am: always waiting, endlessly hoping
I think: the world is going to hell in a hand basket . . .
I know: I’m not the only one that thinks so
I want: just enough
I have: a sad heart . . .
I wish: it weren’t so
I hate: Winter . . . (it’s coming)
I miss: Summer
I fear: things I have no control over
I feel: tired, like always
I hear: conversation, the rustle of a newspaper, a train on the tracks
I smell: like a fine cigar . . . (that nobody likes)
I crave: anything but
I search: for ‘the’ words . . .
I wonder: exactly what they mean
I regret: so very many things, so many mistakes, wrong turns and unfulfilled dreams
I ache: daily
I care: deeply
I always: keep ‘hope’ somewhere very close
I am not: a brain surgeon, but I’m pretty freekin’ smart
I believe: in my three wonderful daughters (my 3 hopes)
I dance: like an epileptic underneath a manic strobe light
I sing: rarely these days, which is sad
I cry: behind locked doors (not often enough)
I don’t always: shave my head
I fight: for what I truly believe in
I write: to simply stay sane
I never: feel that life is fair
I stole: a nice four-wheel dolly from a ritzy Hotel in Boston many years ago
(actually, I just ‘forgot’ to return it)
I listen: to those that truly need to be heard
I need: something
I am happy about: the fact that the dung-slinging elections are almost over.
And I could give two sweet shits about them.
Politics suck. Period. Amen.

Feel free to tag yourself on this.
No tagging here.
I borrowed this from Moe.
Great Meme . . .
Maybe too much information?
Ah, well, it had to come out sooner or later . . .

Good for you! It was a nice way to learn a bit more about you and I’m sure it makes you feel good to put some of this out there. And as far as the politics go – I love your description of the dung slinging. That is truly what it has degraded into.

I am not a big ‘Meme’ guy but I liked this one.
    Thanks for reading, T
    Hoping you’re okay?

You learn a lot about people with this kind of meme. Thanks for sharing these thoughts with us. I agree with you about politics.

I like the first one because at least you are waiting with hope. When you lose all hope life can be miserable. I’m sorry that you have a sad heart but at least there is hope that it won’t always be that way.

Sometimes hope is what it’s all about, yes?
Prayers your way every Sunday morning, JH
You didn’t think I forgot you?

As you know I don’t normally encourage the meme thing, nor do I tag, but this was a good one. It was different from the normal 190000 things you really didn’t want to know about someone.
Liked your answers too btw! Nearly wet myself over the dancing answer though!

I can dance, but I choose not to…getting too damned old for any more than a nice slow waltz these days.
You do need to sing more. Perhaps you need to make the time for it? It’s the things we love most that always seem to suffer isn’t it?

Get enough bourbon into me and I’ll breakdance. (yeah, right . . . or so says my chiropractor)

awesome meme! they’re an irritation when the tagging becomes an issue – but always insightful. honesty is a rare and precious commodity.
i certainly nodded my head at a number of your responses.

i’m tagging me, i reckon… not writing much else lately!

    A great ‘meme’.
Tag yourself and I’ll be there.

“I am not: a brain surgeon, but I’m pretty freekin’ smart”.

Me likes that one. Amongst others of course. But this one just made me smile.

    Thanks for sharing.
PS. My mother always used to say that surgeons are nothing more than human mechanics.

Your Mom sounds like one smart cookie.
    Thanks, Spaz.
Thanks so much for the link as well.
    Cool meme, huh?

Oh, this was a good one. I’ll save it for later as I’ve got a poem up that I want to stay at the top for a bit.

You had me until you said you miss Summer. I’m more of a Fall and Spring type. Winter’s okay, but I really dislike the heat of Summer. (must be my Irish roots).

    I sing pretty often.

I’m with you on the politics stuff. We just got our election over with, now I’d be grateful if you’d get McC and Ob off my t.v. (just kiddin – good luck with that!)

    Hope you’re doin’ okay,

    Kat

I am a total summer guy.
Didn’t used to be that way though.
    Must be MENoPause
I turn the big FIVE OH in January.
Will stop by to check out the poem.
    Thanks for the visit, PK

I bet if you sang more, you might fret less.

It makes me feel more sane, even though I’m only singing to myself these days. It’s the outlet that works for me.

Watch the blog. Might be a certain MP3 that appears very soon . . .

lose the regrets but do more singing

  12. Mrs. V says:

See, I pictured you as a dancer. Now maybe I don’t want to do that. ;) I’m a summer/fall person myself. I’m dreading winter’s onslaught. And don’t get me started on politics. **Sigh** Can I vote for Gumby?
