We remember

Weather-wise, today will be much like it was seven years ago;
sunshine, blue skies and comfortable temperatures.
I’ll get a particular chill though when I gaze down Charles Street
at the sign for the Milner Hotel.

In my mind, today will be much like it was seven years ago
when I thought the world was coming to an end.
Although I’m still here, the memory of that day will be with me forever.
Click on the picture above for the 9/11 tributes I wrote on the 5th anniversary.
My prayers go out this morning for all that we lost;
the many people, our faith in justice and God, our blind innocence.
Never forget . . .

  1. I never will. :neutral:

    Thank you. ;)

    I guess this is something us American bloggers are destined to do.
    Lord knows, I feel honored to be able to do it.

  2. i cannot believe how very difficult this day is still for me. i don’t think i will ever forget that day – yes, world coming to an end – and it did, at least the world as we knew it. like you, my thoughts turn to those we have lost because of this day – hoping their loved ones have found some small bit of peace.

    hugs,
    sarah

    Can’t add much here.

    A rough day indeed, I watched it unfold, thinking all I knew were safely tucked in. Only to discover hours later that someone from my small corner of the world was in harms way in the Pentagon. He survived.

    I pray especially on this day that those whose lives were touched will love each other a little bit more today.
    In memory of those we can no longer touch but still hold dear.

    “No longer touch . . . “

    That is a huge problem, I agree. Can’t imagine being in that situation.
    Damn.
    Thanks, KLC . . . as always

    I will never forget waking up on the September 12 and being unable to tear myself away from the scenes on the TV – I just couldn’t believe what had happened while we slept.

    I truly hope that the friends and relatives of those lost on that terrible day have found some peace. Its something that touched so many people around the world. I for one will never forget.

    I was at work and didn’t see the TV until I got home.
    As I hugged my wife and three daughters, it hit me . . . in a very big way.
    I lost no one. I cried because I was so damn lucky.
    Can’t tell you how much we in the USA appreciate the Aussie thoughts.
    Thanks, Gem

    Here today has been gray and rain soaked. Somehow it seems fitting.

    I hear ya, bud.
    Up here, the weather was almost identical to 9.11.2001; plentiful sunshine and blue skies.
    Go figger.
