“You can approach the act of writing with nervousness, excitement, hopefulness, or even despair, the sense that you can never completely put on the page what is in your mind and heart.
You can come to the act with your fists clenched and your eye narrowed, ready to kick ass and take down names. You can come to it because you want a girl to marry you or because you want to change the world. Come to it any way but lightly.
Let me say it again: you must not come lightly to the blank page.”
-Stephen King

My daughter sent me this quote and I thought others might like it.

Sometimes I like Stephen King’s non-fiction writing more than his fiction. This is a good example.

    Ditto, Earl.

Indeed great quote… I never really thought of it… my blank page is never really blank… it reads from the pages of my mind… needs a translator sometimes… and sometimes it is penned with invisible ink… but it is a battle of will… or perhaps it is blank and I am delusional… I think thats more like it… wow it is really late… thanks for the quote… have you read The Dark Tower series by Steven King… great work

    Yup, you get it, Enreal.
    Delusional? You?
    Never!

yep michael. you were right. i like it.

it comforts me in a twisted way (pretty much how everything reaches me!)… because in those moments of self-derision and despair; when my feeble ramblings humiliate me and bend my knee… i will remember – that at least i do not come to any page lightly.

    Amen, OG
Knowing how you write, I knew you’d like this.
    Never lightly . . .
